General
CasinoWare is capable of supporting multiple currencies and implementing scoring and point systems. To differentiate between various money flows, we use a currency for the satellites that is identical to the main currency. This allows us to determine at any time how much money is still available for satellites in the system.
Once a player account for satellites has been set up, there are essentially two processes involved:
- Winnings from a satellite tournament should be credited to a player's account
- Players can use winnings from satellite tournaments to buy into certain tournaments
Location Currency Setting
To access the Location window, open the Tournament Floor and navigate to Menu > File > Location. Now, select the "Location" tab and "Currencies" from the list on the left.
In this example, we will use the second currency (with the index 1) for the satellites. We will call this currency "Setallites" and use the same symbol as for the main currency. In this example, it's the € symbol. To make it even clearer that this is satellite currency, we have placed a satellite emoji in front of the € symbol.
In this example, a player account is set up that is identical to the local currency. That is, one euro in the satellites account corresponds to one euro in real money (1:1). Other factors are possible.
The difference to the main currency becomes clear when you look at the "Payout," "Debit," and "Cash" options.
- The "Payout" option allows winnings from a satellite tournament to be credited directly to the player's account
- The "Debit" option allows players to pay with the funds in their satellite account
- The "Cash" option is not activated because this is a virtual currency called "Setellite-€," which does not exist as physical cash
The "Credit" option allows a player's satellite account to become negative. Therefore, please only select this option if you genuinely intend to grant players credit.
Set up a Satellite
Since we have already set up the satellites account for players, an additional column is now displayed for buy-ins. Here you can clearly see from the symbol that the first column is the main currency "€" and the second column is the satellites currency.
Buy-In
The buy-in for the satellite is supposed to be €120. As you can see here, the buy-in of €100 and the fee of €20 are only listed in the main currency column. In this example, the player should not be able to pay for a satellite from their satellite account. Of course, this is possible, but the difference to the buy-in for the main event "Main 1A" is to be clearly illustrated here.
Set the values for the buy-in for the satellite currency to zero, as well as for the buy-in and the fee, to prevent a buy-in from the satellite account.
If a player is registered now, the dialog only shows the option to buy-in using the main currency, even if the player has enough money in their Satellites account.
Payouts
The difference for the satellite is that the winnings are not paid out in cash or an extra ticket, but are credited to the player's satellite account. Therefore, it is important that the "Payout" option is enabled in the Satellite account settings.
The payouts need to be adjusted for this.
In this example, we have 10 players who create a prize pool of €1,000. The buy-in for the main event is €400, meaning two players receive €400 each, leaving a remaining €200. All winnings will be paid out in satellite currency, including the remaining €200.
Payouts in the main currency have been deactivated and those in the satellite currency have been activated. Individual withdrawals will simply be entered in the satellite currency column, not in the main currency column.
If you only want to pay out the full tickets, i.e., the €400 in satellite currency, this is of course also possible. For this purpose, the payout for the main currency and the payout for the satellite currency are activated. In our example, only the remaining amount (€200) is then entered in the main currency column.
Pay Winnings
For players who have made it in the money, the entries section shows what payout to expect. Just like with the main currency, the satellite currency column shows what the player has won.
For players who have made it in the money, the entries section shows what payout to expect. Just like with the main currency, the satellite currency column shows what the player has won.
Of course, you can pay out a player directly. Satellite winnings are credited to the player's account. In our example, the payout dialog doesn't offer any other option. If a currency is configured for both account and cash, payouts are possible as either cash or to the account. The corresponding column displays an icon indicating how the payout was made.
If you don't want to pay out all players individually, or perhaps you forgot to do so, a dialog box will appear when you reinitialize the satellite tournament (return it to initial status). The information in the dialog box indicates that you may not have paid out some players yet. You now have the option to directly credit all winnings to the players' accounts.
Simply select the player account (here Satellites) and press "Deposit".
Players' Accounts
You can easily check the players' accounts in the player list. Activate the column for the satellite account (balances).
The completed satellite tournament will then be archived. Payouts or refunds can still be requested from there.
Set up a Main Event
Now let's look at the settings for the Main Event, or rather the tournament that you can buy into with the satellite currency.
Buy-In
As mentioned before, the main difference is now only the setting in the buy-in section. Here, we now want to allow payment from the satellite account.
In our example, we have a buy-in of €400 and also a re-entry of €400. It's important that the satellite currency column is now filled with values for both the primary buy-in and the re-entry. Since the primary currency and the satellite currency are the same (1:1), simply enter the same values.
Register Player
If a player registers for this tournament and meets the condition for payment with the satellite currency, the dialog will display the player account and the satellite currency.
Now select the payment method. If the satellite account is selected, the amount will be automatically deducted from the player's account.
Transactions
The transactions naturally reflect all payments. It's possible to see when a player's account was debited or credited. Therefore, 100% traceability is guaranteed.
